Born and raised in Graz, Alexander Grimm attended the Graphic Design department at the HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule für Kunst & Design. Initially, he devotes himself to commercial work as a graphic designer - initially in Graz, later as a freelancer in Berlin and currently in Vienna. In the mid-2010s, he rediscovered the craftsmanship of painting and has since been engaged in free oil painting parallel to his profession as a graphic designer.

Influenced by his work in the commercial design field and years of experience in three-dimensional visualizations, themes developed for his first works. In realistic everyday scenes, familiar objects come into focus through grotesque exaggeration and opulent exaggeration. He calls the current phase "Painting Progress", which makes him curious about further developments.
